What's New

Do you want to be featured in this year's campaign promoting the FCSI®?

April 11, 2014

We are doing it again! The 2013 campaign featuring our designation holders was so successful that we’ve chosen to continue the trend in this year’s campaign.

The 2014 campaign will continue to focus on building the reputation of your designations by featuring “faces behind the letters” to tell the interesting and inspiring stories of who you are, and why you chose a career in the financial services industry. As a designation holder, you embody the value and credibility of your designation(s), and we want to continue to showcase those values.

We continue to work hard to build the profile of your credentials, and are looking for more FCSIs interested in an extra opportunity to shine. If you think you have a fascinating, motivating and thought-provoking story to tell, and feel you would be a respected representative of your profession and fellow designation holders, then we want to hear from you.  This year’s campaign will begin in June and run throughout the year.

You could be featured in:

  • Print and online interviews
  • Magazine profiles
  • Live Q&A sessions
  • Media interviews as a spokesperson
  • A video gallery
What You Need To Do:

If you want to be featured, please include answers to these 10 questions, a recent photo of yourself and a copy of this signed compliance form for consideration by April 25, 2014.

Please send your answers and application to designations@csi.ca.

By entering, you agree to participate in advertising and publicity initiatives on behalf of CSI. You are responsible for obtaining the appropriate permissions and compliance from your employer to use your employer's name as well. CSI reserves the right to select candidates for its advertising and publicity initiatives.

This year's FCSI promotional campaign: Do Better with a Leader in Financial Services

October 24, 2013

The FCSI® promotional campaign includes a significant increase in national advertising, public relations and social media. The goal is to build widespread public awareness, and emphasize the value of the Fellow of CSI. The campaign will run from October to January 2014. To view the full promotional calendar, click here.

This year, we chose to feature two FCSIs in our campaign. While we had many incredible submissions, we could only choose up to two representatives for each designation or fellowship. Thank you to all who responded to our call to be featured in this campaign.

We would like to extend a congratulations and introduce to you the FCSIs who are representing your letters in this year’s campaign.

Introducing the new tri-fold customizable FCSI client brochure

July 29, 2013

The FCSI client brochures provide your clients (prospective and current) with a snapshot of what it means to be a Fellow of CSI. They emphasize the high standards you meet for education, experience and ethics, and that as an FCSI you bring leadership to your clients, employers and the entire Canadian financial services industry. We have created a new format of the brochure for those who prefer a smaller, more compact version. Download the tri-fold brochure and personalize it by filling out your contact information.

Fellow of CSI - The Pinnacle Financial Services Credential

Mentor the next generation of FCSI's and be featured in an ad on Globeinvestor.com!

FCSI Mentor Bank May 20, 2013

We are seeking FCSI participants for the new Mentor Bank and an online advertisement campaign that will be featured on Globeinvestor.com and the Canadian Securities Institute® (CSI) website for several weeks over the next year.

Introducing the FCSI Mentor Bank

To earn your Fellow of CSI – the highest achievement in financial advice – you were required to meet specific education and experience criteria. You also had to be endorsed by an employer as well as an industry sponsor who was a practicing Fellow of CSI.

Because of its exclusivity, the Fellow of CSI pool is small. As such, it may be difficult for the next generation of Fellow of CSI candidates to find a practicing Fellow to endorse them. A recent FCSI Advisory Council meeting reminded us of this challenge. Perhaps you experienced it yourself when you were pursuing your Fellowship.

As a mentor, you will be matched up with an FCSI Candidate in your area, who you would interview, develop a relationship and eventually write an endorsement letter for their FCSI application. The aim of the program would be to foster new relationships and network with other Fellows in the financial services industry, while helping the new generation of FCSIs apply for their Fellow. It is your discretion as to how much time you spend with your mentee. This is a great way to complete some of your industry contribution requirements as well.

I encourage you not only to help FCSI candidates meet the requirements to earn their FCSI, but to take this as an opportunity to forge strong relationships with these future leaders – to mentor and guide them as they continue to build their career and achieve higher levels of success.

We will be advertising the FCSI Mentor Bank on the CSI website where it will be most seen by potential FCSIs. We are also running an ad on GlobeInvestor.com that will feature our Fellows involved in the Mentor Bank – but as trusted and experienced professionals in the financial services industry, in which the public can contact. The ad will link back to the FCSI directory on the CSI website, which will provide your contact information. It is important to ensure your FCSI directory information is accurate, up to date and viewable so that you may be contacted by anyone interested in your services. You can do that by logging into MYCSI and updating your FCSI profile. The information on your ad will include your title, years of experience and current employer.

To participate in the campaign, you need to sign a release in which you:

  • Agree to have your photograph taken as per the sample ad provided (Please note in your response if you are outside of Toronto)
  • Agree to have your name, title, years of experience and employer’s name (and possibly a logo) included in the ad
  • Gain compliance approval from your employer
  • Agree to be available as a sponsor for a potential Fellow of CSI

Access the release form here

If you are interested in being featured in this campaign or have further questions, please email Amy Umpleby at amy.umpleby@moodys.com at your earliest convenience. You will be responsible for gaining compliance sign-off from your company.
