Equity research analysts work closely with portfolio managers within the organization. Portfolio managers seek a more technical perspective on financial forecasts from the Equity Research Analyst. Analysts conduct thorough equity research and analysis on a specific industrial sector and provide investment ideas for the portfolio thus contributing to the investment performance of a company. This position usually has sole ownership and accountability of its own investment sector.
