What is the Associate Advisor role?

The Associate Advisor is a fully licensed Investment Advisor who works with more senior Investment Advisors with a focus on learning from the senior advisor by first focusing on smaller accounts and building their own book of business. Most Associate Advisors build their business while working with the senior advisor and may choose to eventually buy the senior Investment Advisor’s book of business. The typical career progression for the Associate Advisor is to eventually become an Investment Advisor.

What are the responsibilities of this role?

  • Monitoring market and industry trends affecting the senior Investment Advisors’ clients
  • Advising clients on the products or services that suit their needs and objectives
  • Arranging the purchase or sale of stocks, bonds and other investment products on behalf of investors
  • Prospecting, building and retaining a client base, in conjunction with the senior Investment Advisor
  • Staying up-to-date on current investment products and markets
